Allen, Anthony lead Richmond past George Mason 75-65
RICHMOND, Va. -- Kendall Anthony scored 20 points and Terry Allen added 19 to lead Richmond to a 75-65 win over George Mason on Thursday.
T.J. Cline added 14 points for the Spiders (8-7, 1-1 Atlantic 10), who ended a three-game losing streak by racing to a 42-23 lead at the half.
Richmond shot 68 percent before the break, hitting 6 of 9 3-pointers. Anthony had three treys and 11 points, combining with Allen for 24 points. Allen had seven and Anthony a 3 in a 13-0 run that made it 35-18 with 3:54 left in the half.
Shevon Thompson had 19 points and 17 rebounds for George Mason (6-8, 1-1) and Patrick Holloway scored 17.
The Patriots had a 36-19 rebounding advantaging, including 18-0 on the offensive end. That led to 17 more shots but couldn't overcome Richmond's hot hand that including a going 20 of 23 from the foul line.
