Canisius overtakes Siena 69-63 in overtime
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Jeremiah Williams scored 18 points and forced overtime with his fifth 3-pointer to lead Canisius to a 69-63 win over Siena on Thursday night.
In overtime, Kassius Robertson hit the go-ahead bucket to make it 65-63 with 1:07 left and followed it up with a pair of free throws. Zach Lewis added two more from the line for Canisius and Siena went cold, missing all three of its final shots over the final 38 seconds.
Josiah Heath contributed 14 points to go with nine rebounds, while Kevin Bleeker and Robertson had 12 apiece for Canisius (14-12, 9-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). The Griffins hit 25 of 48 from the field (52.1 percent) to win their second in a row and get the season sweep over Siena.
Ryan Oliver led Siena (10-16, 7-10) with a career-high 23 points. Javion Ogunyemi and Marquis Wright added 12 apiece.
