Quinnipiac Bobcats @ Manhattan Jaspers
Manhattan outlasts Quinnipiac 69-65
RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Emmy Andujar scored 18 points, Ashton Pankey added 17 and Manhattan outlasted Quinnipiac 69-65 on Sunday.
Manhattan (16-13, 13-7 Metro Atlantic) built a 14-6 lead over the first 7 1/2 minutes of the game as Quinnipiac made just three of its first 10 shots and committed five turnovers. The Bobcats finally got going though, and Dimitri Floras' 3-pointer with five seconds left in the half brought them within three, 37-34, at the break.
The Jaspers restored a 10-point lead quickly in the second as they started with an 11-4 run, including RaShawn Stores' 3-pointer.
Quinnipiac didn't fold, and made it a two-point game on Zaid Hearst's 3-pointer with 4:40 left. But the Bobcats missed on the next three possessions and Andujar made a free throw, jumper and layup in the final four minutes to preserve the win.
Quinnipiac (15-14, 9-11) was led by Hearst with 22 points and nine rebounds.
