Stewart leads Monmouth to 83-64 win over Siena
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Collin Stewart had a career-high 21 points and Monmouth (NJ) had a strong second half to roll over Siena 83-64 on Saturday night.
Stewart, who had just six points in the first half, was 8 of 9 from the floor. Deon Jones added 17 and Justin Robinson made 6 of 10 field goal attempts for 14 points for Monmouth (14-12, 10-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
The score was close throughout the first half with Monmouth ahead 34-31 at the break, but the Hawks soared in the second half 49-33.
Monmouth's Zac Tillman completed a three-point play, Jones and Robinson made consecutive 3-point jumpers for a 43-36 lead to start the second half. The Hawks stretched that to 59-46 midway of the final period and coasted to the win.
Evan Hymes led Siena (10-15, 7-9) with 13 points, Marquis Wright had 12 and Javion Ogunyemi added 11.
