San Diego Toreros vs Princeton Tigers
Dee carries San Diego past Princeton 75-65
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Johnny Dee scored 29 points to lead San Diego to a 75-65 win over Princeton on Saturday in the consolation bracket of the Wooden Legacy Tournament.
Christopher Anderson added 11 points and 7 assists for the Toreros (4-2). Spencer Weisz had 18 points and 9 rebounds for the Tigers (1-4) and Amir Bell added 17 points.
San Diego led 40-28 at halftime with Dee scoring 13 points. He opened the second half with his second 3-pointer on his way to reaching 20 points for the fifth time in six games.
The Tigers would battle back to get within 4 twice with less than 4 minutes to go but each time Anderson responded with a basket.
After Anderson's layup at 3:01, the Toreros forced a turnover that led to two free throws by Duda Sanadze. Then Dee hit his fifth 3 and hit four free throws to secure the win.
