Campbell pulls away from Gardner-Webb, 78-59
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Andrew Ryan scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Campbell beat Gardner-Webb 78-59 on Monday night.
Reco McCarter had 18 points for Campbell (8-14, 2-7 Big South), D.J. Mason added 13 points and Kyre' Hamer 10 with nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Campbell held a 37-30 lead at halftime and opened up the second half on a 9-3 run, capped by a Ryan 3-pointer.
Campbell hit 61.9 percent of its field goals in the second half and held Gardner-Webb to 31.8.
Jerome Hill led Gardner-Webb (13-9, 5-4) with 16 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. Hill is now two rebounds away from moving into second place on the program's all-time Division I list.
Adonis Burbage had 12 points, Jarvis Davis added 10 more and Tyler Strange dished out 10 assists for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
