NEW YORK -- Jalen Cannon scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds Saturday to lead top-seeded St. Francis Brooklyn to a 62-48 win over No. 8 seed St. Francis University and advance to the Northeast Conference semifinal for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
Brent Jones contributed 13 points and Chris Hooper added 11 for the Terriers (23-10), who will play No. 2 seed Robert Morris for the tournament championship on Tuesday.
Leading by four early in the second half, the Terriers broke it open with a 9-0 burst sparked by Jones' three-point play and capped by three straight buckets from Cannon to make it 46-33. Jones's 3-pointer with 8:01 left pushed it to 49-37 and the margin never fell below double figures the rest of the way.
Malik Harmon led the Red Flash (16-15) with 18 points, while Earl Brown had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
