Adeyeye leads Jacksonville over Florida Gulf Coast 78-69
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Josh Adeyeye scored 23 of his career-high 35 points in the second half to lead Jacksonville to a 78-69 win over Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday night.
Adeyeye shot 13 for 21 from the field including six 3-pointers for the Dolphins (12-11, 4-2 Atlantic Sun Conference). He was 9 for 11 from the floor and 4 for 4 from 3-point range in the second half.
Kori Babineaux added 21 points, five rebounds and six assists for Jacksonville, which used a 17-4 run in the second half to build a 17-point lead. The Eagles (13-9, 4-2) made four 3-pointers in the final 42 seconds, but couldn't get closer than seven.
Marc-Eddy Norelia scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for FGCU. Zach Johnson added 16 for the Eagles.
