UTEP beats Florida A&M 72-54 to stay unbeaten
EL PASO, Texas -- Lee Moore scored 17 points and UTEP remained undefeated with a 72-54 victory over Florida A&M on Tuesday night.
Terry Winn and Earvin Morris scored 12 points apiece, and Hooper Vint added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Miners (4-0).
The Miners hit half of their 54 shots and were 7 of 15 from the 3-point arc.
Justin Ravenal scored 16 points for the Rattlers (2-3) with Craig Bowman adding 12. Florida A&M made 20 of 58 shots for 34.5 percent and was only 6 of 22 from 3-point range for 27 percent.
The Miners outscored the Rattlers 14-2 to open the game with Vint scoring six points and Moore five. The lead reached 24 points at 48-24 by halftime.
The Miners built their biggest lead of 31 points by the 14:42 mark of the second half.
