Calvin's late FTs helps SE Missouri beat Missouri St. 78-74
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Jamaal Calvin made three free throws in the final minute and Southeast Missouri held on to beat Missouri State 78-74 for its first win of the season on Tuesday night.
Antonius Cleveland had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Southeast Missouri (1-10). Isiah Jones chipped in 17 points with five 3-pointers. Calvin finished with five points.
Dequon Miller scored 17 points for Missouri State (4-8).
Jones made a two 3-pointers and a pair of free throws and Cleveland scored three points to stretch the Redhawks' lead to 72-68 with two minutes left. Camyn Boone made two free throws, and Ryan Kreklow's 3 pulled the Bears to 74-73 with 1:20 remaining.
Calvin made three free throws and Southeast Missouri led 77-73 with 30 seconds left. Miller missed two jumpers and split a pair of free throws, and Cleveland made a free throw to seal it.
