Montana State thwarts North Dakota in 89-82 win
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Marcus Colbert scored 29 points and Zach Green added 23 as Montana State beat North Dakota 89-82 on Saturday in Big Sky Conference action.
Tyler Hall hit a 3 to give Montana State (14-16, 9-9) an 80-66 lead with 3:41 remaining before the Fighting Hawks began chipping away. Quinton Hooker followed with a 3, Geno Crandall added a dunk and Drick Bernstine made 1 of 2 free throws to cut the deficit to eight.
Off a Montana State timeout, Colbert hit his fifth 3 with 1:17 left to seal the win.
Colbert scored eight of the Bobcats' first 10 points, and Tyson Kanseyo's layup gave Montana State a 28-15 lead. Colbert continued his scoring attack and had 16 first-half points as the Bobcats led 39-30 at the break.
Hooker led North Dakota(15-14, 10-8) with 25 points and Crandall added 15.
