McLean scores career-high 29, Chattanooga beats ETSU 94-84
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Tre' McLean made four 3-pointers and scored 29 points -- both career highs -- and Chattanooga beat East Tennessee State 94-84 Saturday for sole possession of first place in the Southern Conference.
Leading 45-43 at halftime, McLean hit a 3-pointer to cap an 11-0 run at the start of the second half for a 56-43 lead.
ETSU pulled to 64-57 on Desonta Bradford's 3-pointer, but McLean scored seven points during an 11-3 run to put it out of reach.
Justin Tuoyo added 20 points and six blocked shots for Chattanooga (16-3, 5-1) and Eric Robertson scored 15 -- all on 3-pointers. The Mocs made 54 percent of their shots, including 11 of 20 from distance, and connected on 29 of 36 free throws.
Ge'Lawn Guyn sank five 3-pointers and scored 21 points for ETSU (11-7, 4-1). T.J. Cromer added 19 points and the Buccaneers hit 12 3-pointers but made just 16 of 23 foul shots.
