Hass leads Navy over Bucknell 88-58
LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Chris Hass scored 22 points and Bucknell snapped a seven-game losing streak by defeating Navy 88-58 in a Patriot League opener Wednesday night.
Hass was 8 of 12 from the field and made three 3-pointers. Stephen Brown added a career-high 18 points and eight assists. Bucknell shot 54 percent, making 9 of 20 3-point tries.
Navy's Shawn Anderson was 7 of 9 from the floor for 19 points.
The Bison (4-8) avoided their first eight-game losing streak since the 2008-09 season in beating the Midshipmen (9-5) for the fourth straight time.
Navy came in ranked 12th in scoring defense, giving up just under 60 points per game, but the Bison dealt the Midshipmen their worst defeat this season.
Bucknell never trailed and led 42-29 at halftime.
Navy got within 11 points early in the second half but a 15-3 run left Bucknell up 69-46 with 8:43 to go.
