Price with 28 points, leads La Salle over Rider 73-60
PHILADELPHIA -- Jordan Price scored 14 of his 28 points in the first half and La Salle rolled to a 73-60 victory over Rider on Tuesday night.
Price was 11 of 22 from the floor. Cleon Roberts had 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Johnnie Shuler had 14 points, eight rebounds with four assists and three steals for La Salle (2-0).
Xavier Lundy scored 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead Rider (0-2). Jimmie Taylor added 13 points. Shawn Valentine, who scored a career-high 15 points in the Broncs opening loss to Princeton, scored 4.
The Explorers had a 20-point lead with six minutes left. Lundy scored four points, and Taylor made a 3-pointer to spark an 11-2 run to pull to 67-56 with 2:35 remaining. Shuler made a pair of free throws and Price scored four points to seal it.
