NJIT rallies late to beat Stetson 74-70
NEWARK, N.J. -- Damon Lynn scored 30 points, and his 3-pointer with 21 seconds left helped NJIT beat Stetson 74-70 Thursday night.
Grant Lozoya made two free throws for Stetson and gave it a 67-59 lead with 5:05 remaining in the game. From there, however, the Hatters shot 1 of 6 from the field and turned the ball over three times.
The Highlanders used a 15-3 run to close out the game. Rob Ukawuba's layup tied it at 67 before Lynn made 1 of 2 free throws for the lead with 2:04 left.
Lynn's 3 made it 71-67 and Lozoya hit a 3 with nine seconds left. Lynn made a technical-foul shot and Ky Howard added two free throws.
NJIT (15-11, 6-4 Atlantic Sun) got 20 points from Howard, who shot 6 of 9 from the field, 8 of 9 from the free-throw line, dished six assists, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals.
Lozoya led Stetson (9-17, 3-7) with 16 points.
