LAFAYETTE, La. -- Devonta Walker scored 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting and Louisiana Lafayette beat Division III Louisiana College 108-68 on Friday night.
Walker grabbed 11 rebounds, Kasey Shepherd scored 16 points, Shawn Long scored 14, Jonathan Stove 12, and Jay Hedgeman 10.
Long opened with a dunk, Hayward Register added a 3-pointer, and the Ragin' Cajuns led 10-3 early and pulled away on 60 percent shooting from the field. Hedgeman dunked for his 10th point of the half amid a 14-2 run and Louisiana Lafayette led 55-29 at halftime.
The Ragin' Cajuns scored 68 points in the paint and outrebounded the Wildcats 48-25. The teams combined for 39 3-point attempts, with the Wildcats making one and Louisiana Lafayette four.
Raheem Regis scored 22 for Louisiana College, Anthony Gaines Jr. added 12 and Kevin Cottonham 11.
