Northeastern defeats James Madison 95-94 in 3OT
HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Quincy Ford scored a career-high 36 points, had seven rebounds and five assists as Northeastern outlasted James Madison 95-94 in triple overtime Thursday night.
The Huskies scored all 13 of their points in the third overtime from the foul line. Ford shot 7 for 9 from the free-throw line in the third extra session. It was the Huskies first triple-overtime win in school history.
Ford finished 10 for 26 from the field and 12 for 16 from the free throw line. David Walker had 19 points and Jeremy Miller finished with 18 for Northeastern (15-13, 7-8 Colonial Athletic Association).
Walker played in his 128th game for Northeastern, tying the school record with three others.
James Madison (19-9, 9-6) outshot Northeastern 47.4 percent to 37.3 percent from the field, but the Huskies finished 35 for 41 from the foul line compared to 14 for 21 for the Dukes.
Yohanny Dalembert led the Dukes with 26 points and Ron Curry chipped in 21.
