Ivey takes Gardner-Webb past Presbyterian 69-66 in OT
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. -- Isaiah Ivey sank a 3-pointer with five seconds left in overtime to give Gardner-Webb a 69-66 edge over Presbyterian College on Saturday.
Presbyterian led 66-61 in the extra period when Gardner-Webb's Dylan Poston tied it up 66-66 on a pair of free throws with 39 seconds to play. Presbyterian's Reggie Dillard missed a jumper with 15 seconds to go and Ivey grabbed the rebound and nailed the 3-pointer at the other end to give the Bulldogs (13-12, 8-5 Big South) the win.
Harold McBride led Gardner-Webb with 15 points and 10 assists. Poston and Tyrell Nelson added 14 points apiece.
The Bulldogs dominated the first half and led throughout the second until Presbyterian's Will Adams drained a 3-pointer with four seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 61 and forcing the overtime.
DeSean Murray led the Blue Hose (8-15, 3-9) with 24 points, eight boards and four steals.
