Kemrite, Cabbil help Liberty hold off High Point 80-76
HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Ryan Kemrite scored the go-ahead basket after grabbing an offensive rebound, and Lovell Cabbil knocked down six straight free throws as Liberty held off High Point 80-76 Saturday night.
Kemrite, Cabbil and Anthony Fields each scored 14 points for Liberty and A.C. Reid led with 16 as the Flames notched their first six-game winning streak since the 2006-07 season.
Ezra Talbert added 11 points as Liberty (11-15, 8-5 Big South) shot 53-percent (28 of 53) and sank 16 of 17 foul shots, not missing until there was 1:35 left to play.
Adam Weary scored 17 points -- all in the second half -- for High Point (14-9, 7-5). John Brown scored 18. Lorenzo Cugini scored 15, including a 3-pointer that helped High Point take a 34-31 halftime lead after a 7-0 run.
