Murray scores 28 points; Presbyterian beats Liberty 79-73
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- DeSean Murray matched a career-high with 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Presbyterian to a 79-73 victory over Liberty on Saturday night to snap an eight-game skid.
Murray was 11 of 18 from the floor. Ed Drew had 14 points and Will Adams chipped in 10 for Presbyterian (9-18, 4-12 Big South Conference).
Ryan Kemrite scored 15 points to lead Liberty (12-17, 9-7), which has lost two straight since having its seven-game win streak snapped.
The Blue Hose had a two-point lead with seven minutes remaining, and used a 10-3 spurt to stretch it to 68-59 with a minute left. Murray scored five points and Reggie Dillard had three during the span.
The Flames had their last lead, 23-21 with five minutes left in the first half. The Blue Hose closed on a 17-6 spurt and led 38-29 at halftime.
