HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Kay Felder had 24 points and 10 assists on Monday night and Oakland pulled away with a late run to beat Northern Kentucky 85-74.
Max Hooper's 4-point play gave the Golden Grizzlies (15-8, 7-3 Horizon League) a double-digit lead at 82-70 with 2:14 left. Nick Daniels capped the 11-0 run at 85-70 with 1:32 to go.
Martez Walker added 16 points and Jalen Hayes had 13 points and 14 rebounds. Hooper finished 4 of 8 from 3-point range with three free throws for 15 points.
Oakland never trailed after Northern Kentucky (8-13, 4-6) scored the opening basket and the Golden Grizzlies led by 13 in the first half before the Norse closed within 45-42 at the half.
Drew McDonald's 3-point play with 4:12 left got Northern Kentucky as close as it would get at 74-70.
McDonald had 23 points and eight rebounds. Dean Danos scored 12 and Tyler White 11.
