Alstork leads Wright State over South Dakota 77-69
DEKALB, Ill. -- Mark Alstork scored 20 of his career-high 27 points in the second half to spark Wright State over South Dakota 77-69 on Friday night in a season opener.
JT Yoho added 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Raiders with Joe Thomasson scoring 16.
Tre Burnette scored 22 points and had 16 rebounds for the Coyotes. Casey Kasperbauer added 19 points and Eric Robertson 10.
South Dakota had a 32-30 halftime lead and the Coyotes extended it to 39-30 to start the second half, with Robertson scoring seven points.
Over an eight-minute stretch, Alstork, a transfer from Ball State who sat out last season, scored 16 points in a run that put Wright State up 64-51, its largest lead. The Coyotes got as close as 6 with 25 seconds left before Mark Hughes made two free throws.
The game opened the Northern Illinois Showcase.
