Mosely, Papale lead Boston over UMass-Lowell 80-60
LOWELL, Mass. -- Cheddi Mosely scored 23 points, John Papale added 17, both hitting five 3-pointers, and Boston University rolled to an 80-60 win over UMass-Lowell on Thursday.
Eric Johnson added 11 points and Eric Fanning 10 for the Terriers (4-5), who raced to a 46-23 halftime lead.
DJ Mlachnik led the River Hawks (4-5) with 13 points.
Papale and Mosely opened the game by hitting 3s and Nick Havener followed with a layup after he blocked a Lowell 3-point attempt for an 8-0 lead.
The River Hawks got back within 12-10 before Mosely started a 15-0 run that included back-to-back 3s from Papale. After a Lowell basket, Mosely had two 3s that helped push the lead to 35-12.
BU shot 48 percent, hitting 13 of 28 behind the arc, and was 13 of 15 from the foul line.
Lowell went 6 of 28 on 3s (21 percent) and finished at 33 percent overall (23-69).
