Malonga, Moore lead North Florida past UC-Upstate 78-62
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Nick Malonga and Dallas Moore scored 16 points apiece and North Florida defeat South Carolina Upstate 78-62 on Thursday.
Demarcus Daniels added 12 points off the bench for the Ospreys (16-6, 5-0 Atlantic Sun), who had six of the seven players who got in the game reaching double figures.
Michael Buchanan scored a career-high 31 points for the Spartans (7-14, 1-3).
Moore's 3-pointer in the last minute pushed North Florida's lead to 39-32 at the half. He had the last of five-straight Osprey points to open the second half for a 44-32 lead. The Spartans got it back to two with a 3-pointer with 12:24 to play but Malonga had a 3-pointer and turned a steal into a 3-point play in a 30-second spurt to push it back to 59-48 with 8:15 to go.
Trent Mackey had a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch as the Osprey pulled away.
