Ellenson, Wilson lead Marquette past Chicago State, 91-74
MILWAUKEE -- Henry Ellenson and Duane Wilson combined to score 37 points and Marquette rode a 56-point first half to a 91-74 win over Chicago State Monday night.
The pair each scored 12 points in the first half as the golden Eagles built a 23-point halftime lead. Ellenson finished with 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Wilson finished with 18 points by hitting 4 of 7 shots from beyond the arc and distributed six assists off the Marquette bench.
The Golden Eagles (9-2) were 19 of 37 from the field in the first half, including 6 of 14 from long distance, and finished shooting 46 percent for the game.
Fred Sims Jr. was 6 of 9 from long range to lead Chicago State (4-10) with 26 points. Clemmye Owens V finished with 14 points and the Cougars remained winless in their first six road games.
