Longwood rallies to beat La Roche 89-65
FARMVILLE, Va. -- Kanayo Obi-Rapu scored a career-high 27 points and hit 5 of 8 from long distance to rally Longwood to an 89-65 win over Division III La Roche College Monday night.
Darrion Allen scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting, Tra'Vaughn White and Lotanna Nwogbo each scored 13 and Nwogbo had four blocks. The Lancers finished shooting 57 percent, using 15 assists to sink 31 of 54 field goals.
The lead changed hands nine times before Andres Abreu put La Roche up 28-27 with a free throw amid an 11-5 run and the Redhawks led 35-32 at halftime.
Obi-Rapu hit three straight 3-pointers and a layup during a 15-4 run and Longwood pulled ahead 51-44, pulled with a 13-2 run, then cruised.
Evan Bonnaure led La Roche with 16 points, Arnes Bajgora scored 11, and the Redhawks shot 36 percent from the floor.
