Northeastern wins OT thriller over BU, 87-94
BOSTON -- David Walker scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds to help lead Northeastern to an 87-84 overtime victory over Boston University in a season opener on Friday night.
Nick Havener opened the overtime scoring to give BU a 79-77 lead, but from there Northeastern scored 7 straight points, capped by a Walker layup that put the Huskies up five with two minutes left.
The Terries battled back however, tying the game at 84 with 39 seconds left on a John Papale 3-pointer. After a Northeastern timeout, Caleb Donnelly drilled a 3 with 16 seconds remaining which put the Huskies in the lead for good.
Papale had a chance to send the game to a second overtime, but missed at the buzzer.
Zach Stahl finished with 17 points for Northeastern.
Cheddi Mosely led BU with 19 points.
