Cline's 24 points help Richmond beat UMass 69-53
RICHMOND, Va. -- T.J. Cline scored 24 points, Terry Allen tied a career high collecting 16 rebounds and ShawnDre' Jones dealt a career-high nine assists and Richmond beat Massachusetts 69-53 Saturday night.
Jones scored 12 points and Marshall Wood added 10 for Richmond (12-10, 4-6 Atlantic 10). Cline finished with 8-of-12 shooting to go along with six rebounds. He's now made 21 of his last 30 field goal attempts.
The Spiders limited the Minutemen to 30.4 percent shooting from the field and seven first-half field goals.
With Richmond leading 27-21 at the half, Cline and Jones scored the Spiders' first six points after intermission before Trey Davis' layup and 3 with 14:34 left pushed the lead to 38-25. The Minutemen were never able to get the deficit under double digits.
Donte Clark led UMass (9-13, 2-8) with 23 points, hitting 6 of 12 3-point attempts.
