Ferguson double-double sends Army past Boston U 80-71
BOSTON -- Kevin Ferguson scored 18 points and collared 14 rebounds to help Army upset Boston U 80-71 on Tuesday night, winning a fifth-straight game and securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the upcoming Patriot League tournament.
Tanner Plomb scored 16 points, Kyle Wilson 15 and Luke Morrison 11 for Army, which notched its 11th road win, a program record.
Ferguson's double-double was seventh in a row and 15th in the senior's career for Army (18-11, 9-8 Patriot League).
Eric Fanning led Boston (17-13, 10-7) with 20 points and Cheddi Mosely added 18, but the Terriers shot 35 percent from the field, 24-for-68.
If Army remains in sixth place and Boston in third, they will meet again next week in the tournament quarterfinals.
Ferguson passed 1,000 points career scoring, joining Plomb and Wilson as the first three classmates in Army history to all score at least 1,000 career points.
