Lindner scores 11 in OT; Lafayette beats St. Peter's 87-86
EASTON, Pa. -- Nick Lindner scored 11 of his 22 points in the final two minutes of overtime to help Lafayette come back and beat St. Peter's 87-86 on Sunday.
Lindner had six assists, Bryce Scott scored 18 points and Monty Boykins added 16 for Lafayette (1-1).
Trevis Wyche had 18 points with five assists, and Quadir Welton had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead St. Peter's (1-1).
The game was tied at 72 after regulation. Welton scored two layups, Chazz Patterson scored 5 points, and Rodney Hawkins a jump shot, and the Peacocks led 83-74 with two minutes left in overtime.
Lindner made a 3-pointer to spark the game-ending 13-3 run, and his jumper pulled the Leopards to 86-83 with 57 seconds left.
Lindner forced a turnover and then made back-to-back layups give the Leopards the lead with 12 seconds left. Patterson missed a layup and Welton grabbed the rebound, but Zach Rufer stole it to end the game.
