UNC Wilmington tops Elon 86-82
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Jordon Talley scored 19 points, including key free throws late, and UNC Wilmington won its 10th in a row topping Elon 86-82 on Thursday night.
Denzel Ingram added 18 points for the Seahawks (19-5, 11-2), who hold a two-game lead in the Colonial Athletic Conference with five games to play. Craig Ponder scored 13 points and C.J. Bryce added 10 for UNCW, which outrebounded Elon 41-31.
Tyler Seibring paced Elon (14-12, 5-8) with 18 points. Luke Eddy scored 15 points and Dmitri Thompson added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Eddy's layup with 13 seconds to go drew Elon within two points at 82-80. The Phoenix put Talley on the line twice, but the sophomore guard made four consecutive free throws to keep Elon at bay. Talley made 11 of 12 from the line overall.
