Hinds leads UMass to 69-63 win over Harvard
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Jabarie Hinds scored 24 points and Trey Davis added 13 and UMass held off Harvard down the stretch for a 69-63 win on Tuesday night.
Hinds had 20 points in the first half and the Minutemen (2-0) led 38-34. They scored the first 8 points of the second half to open a 12-point lead, 46-34, and led by 11 with 8:09 to play on a Hinds layup.
Zena Edosomwan scored five straight points to pull Harvard within four with 4:24 to play but the Minutemen answered every basket from there.
Edosomwan finished with 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Harvard (1-2). Corbin Miller added 11 points.
The Crimson, who went 5 of 27 from the 3-point line, had 11 turnovers and forced just six by UMass.
