Walker, Northeastern slip past Florida Atlantic, 60-58
OXFORD, Ohio -- David Walker scored 19, including the winning dunk with two seconds left, Zach Stahl finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Northeastern slipped past Florida Atlantic 60-58 on Friday.
Walker made 7 of 12 field goals, including 2 of 3 from behind the arc, and had a career-high five steals. Quincy Ford added 16 points for Northeastern (3-0).
Florida Atlantic led by as many as 12 in the second half and Jackson Trapp's 3-pointer with 9:09 to play put the Owls up 48-38. But the Huskies responded with a 16-0 run, including nine by Ford, to open up a 6-point lead about four minutes later.
Marquan Botley scored seven in a row to start a 10-2 spurt by FAU that made it 58-56 with 1:18 remaining.
Stahl tied it with a layup 30 seconds later and, after Botley missed a 3, Walker's dunk won it.
Botley led FAU (0-3) with 14 points.
