Louisiana Tech takes down Grambling State 86-67
GRAMBLING, La. -- Erik McCree had 13 points on 6-for-11 shooting and eight rebounds to send Louisiana Tech past Grambling State 86-67 on Saturday night.
Teammates Alex Hamilton and Derric Jean each had 13 points for Louisiana Tech (3-0). Hamilton was 5-for-8 shooting and Jean was 5 for 9. The Bulldogs shot 51.5 percent from the floor.
Hamilton also had nine assists, four steals, three rebounds and a block.
Grambling State (1-4) got 28 points from Nigel Ribeiro who shot 8 for 14; 4 for 6 from 3. He was also 8 of 12 from the free-throw line.
Louisiana Tech raced to an 18-7 lead and was never challenged. The Bulldogs had a 43-24 halftime lead. The Bulldogs scored 43 points in the first and second half.
The Bulldogs only committed five turnovers in the game.
