Odunsi leads Houston Baptist to 72-59 win over UC-Riverside
HOUSTON -- Anthony Odunsi scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had six assists to help lead Houston Baptist to a 72-59 win over UC Riverside on Tuesday night.
Odunsi was 14 of 17 from the line. Josh Ibarra had 18 points, Jourdan Stickler added 13 and Reveal Chukwujekwu made 4 of 5 field goals for 11 points.
Houston Baptist (4-6) picked up its first back-to-back victories this season. The Huskies dominated Arlington Baptist 110-53 on Saturday night.
The Huskies were up 33-23 at the half and never trailed, but UC Riverside closed to 62-54 with 4:18 left. Houston Baptist made seven straight free throws and Ibarra slammed home a dunk for a 71-56 advantage with 2:03 left.
Taylor Johns lead UC Riverside (5-5), which has dropped its last three games, with 16 points. Jaylen Bland added 14 and Gentrey Thomas chipped in 10.
