UC Riverside beats Life Pacific 95-48

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- DJ Sylvester had 20 points and seven rebounds to help UC Riverside beat Life Pacific 95-48 on Sunday night.

Jaylen Bland hit four 3-pointers and scored 17 points for UC Riverside (7-5). Menno Dijkstra had six points, seven rebounds and four blocks for the Highlanders, who made 11 of 26 from 3-point range and outrebounded the Warriors 49-33.

UC Riverside shot 55 percent in the first half to build a 50-26 lead. Bland had 14 in the first 20 minutes and Sylvester added 13.

Life Pacific, in the first year of athletics after its programs were discontinued in 2007, has lost 12 straight games.

Sean Broker and James Noble each scored eight points for Life Pacific, which is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association. Troyon Butler had 11 rebounds and eight of the Warriors' 19 turnovers.
