McMillan scores 31 to help Canisius beat Lehigh 98-89
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Malcolm McMillan scored 10 of his 31 points in the final 5:30 on Monday night to help Canisius pull away in the waning minutes and beat Lehigh 98-89.
Lehigh (0-2) tied it at 86 when Kahron Ross hit a jumper with 2:16 to play.
McMillan converted a 3-point play and, after Lehigh's Jesse Chuku made a 3-pointer, Phil Valenti hit a 3 to start a 9-0 run by Canisius (1-1) over the final 71 seconds.
Lehigh was 0-for-3 shooting -- all 3-point attempts -- with two turnovers in the final 1:40.
Guard Jamal Reynolds finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds and four assists for Canisius. Phil Valenti scored 19 and Isaiah Gurley had 13 points.
Austin Price scored 20, Chuku had 19 with nine rebounds and Tim Kempton finished with 17 points for Lehigh.
Canisius turned 15 Lehigh turnovers into 24 points.
