AKRON, Ohio -- Josh Williams hit five 3-pointers and scored 15 points to help lead Akron to an easy 75-46 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday night.
Jake Kretzer added four 3's and 14 points and Isaiah Johnson finished with 12 points for the Zips (15-4, 4-2 MAC), who hit 14 of 26 from 3-point range while holding Miami (Ohio) to just 1 of 10.
Akron has won back-to-back games and 12 of its last 14 overall. Miami has lost nine straight and is 0-8 on the road this season.
Akron jumped out to a 16-6 lead early in the first half and led 34-18 at halftime. The Zips pushed their lead past 20 on an Aaron Jackson long range shot with 13:29 left.
An LJ Livingston layup for the RedHawks (6-13, 0-6) cut the lead back to 18 (52-34) but they got no closer.
