Akron routs Bowling Green 89-54 to snap 2-game skid
AKRON, Ohio -- Reggie McAdams scored 21 of his 29 points in the first half to lead Akron in an 89-54 rout of Bowling Green on Friday night.
McAdams made seven 3-pointers, was 10 of 13 from the floor, and was two points shy of his career-high. Kwan Cheatham Jr. had 16 points and Antino Jackson added 10 points and matched a career-best with eight assist for the Zips (22-7, 11-5 Mid-American Conference), who snapped a two-game skid.
Zack Denny scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting to lead Bowling Green (14-15, 5-11), which has lost eight of its last nine games.
McAdams made a 3-pointer to cap a 20-7 opening run as the Zips built a 52-26 halftime lead and cruised from there. Akron shot 50 percent overall in the first half, including 11 of 22 from the arc.
The Zips made a season-best 19 3-pointers.
