BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Geovonie McKnight had 21 points as Miami (Ohio) pulled away late to knock off Buffalo 67-59 on Tuesday night.
Eric Washington drilled four from long range to finish with 17 points while dishing out seven assists for the RedHawks (12-18, 6-11 Mid-American Conference) who have won three straight after dropping three in a row. Miami (Ohio) will close out the regular schedule against Ohio on Friday.
Trailing by three, Buffalo's Blake Hamilton nailed a 3-pointer to tie at 55-55 with 4:27 remaining in the game.
Rod Mills answered with a 3 for Miami (OH), and Washington and Chris Bryan had back-to-back layups to pull ahead 62-55. The Bulls managed just 4 points in the final 4:00. Buffalo was up 29-26 at the half. The RedHawks won the second period, 41-30.
Hamilton had 20 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for Buffalo (16-14, 9-8), which has dropped two straight.
