MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- John Simons made six 3-pointers and scored 18 points, Luke Meyer had 14 points with a career-high 13 rebounds, and Central Michigan beat Howard 72-52 on Tuesday night.
Rayshawn Simmons and Chris Fowler added 11 points apiece for Central Michigan (6-5). Simmons had 10 assists and Fowler added four as the Chippewas had 18 assists on 26 made field goals.
Central Michigan hit 12 of 29 3-pointers to reach double-digit makes for its fifth consecutive game.
Central Michigan led just 36-31 at halftime but the Chippewas made three 3-pointers, two by Simons, in the first three minutes of the second half to build a 47-31 lead.
James Daniel, who entered as the nation's leading scorer with 29.3 points per game, scored 19 points for Howard (7-6). He was held to just two second-half points.
The Bison were averaging 81.2 points per game.
