Fairfield holds off Rider 74-70
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Jonathan Kasibabu and Curtis Cobb each scored 14 points and Fairfield beat Rider 74-70 Friday night in a game that featured 16 lead changes and eight ties.
Tyler Nelson and Matija Milin scored 13 apiece for the Stags (4-4, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who shot 51 percent from the field and outscored the Broncs 45-20 in the paint.
Kasibabu's jumper made it 71-68 for the Stags with 2:05 left. Teddy Okereafor made two free throws to pull the Broncs within 71-70, but Milin hit a 3-pointer on the next possession and iced it with a free throw with 29 seconds left.
Okereafor hit a 3 with 1 second left to tie it at 37 at halftime.
Okereafor scored 25 points, Xavier Lundy added 11, and Jimmie Taylor and Kealen Ives had 10 apiece for the Broncs (1-7, 0-2).
