Omaha buzzer-beater tops Montana State 100-97
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Devin Patterson hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer and scored a career-high 41 points to give Nebraska-Omaha a wild 100-97 win over Montana State on Sunday.
Marcus Colbert, who had a career-high 32, pulled the Bobcats into a tie as he spun into the lane and hit a short jumper with 2.7 seconds left.
Patterson had 20 points in the first half as the Mavericks (4-4) shot 58 percent to take a 59-44 lead.
Colbert scored 19 in the second half when the Bobcats (4-4) shot 62 percent.
Omaha was up 11 when Tyler Hall, Stephan Holm and Colbert hit 3s to cut it to two points midway through the second half. The lead was back to eight with 2:54 to go.
Tre'Shawn Thurman added 20 points for the Mavericks. Holm had 21 and Hall 17 for the Bobcats.
Both teams shot 52 percent. Omaha was 4 of 15 on 3s and 22 of 25 from the line. Montana State was 15 of 31 on 3s but 14 of 21 on free throws.
