Boothe, Williams lift Toledo over Cleveland State 76-65
TOLEDO, Ohio -- Nathan Boothe and Jonathan Williams scored 17 points apiece to lead Toledo to a 76-65 win over Cleveland State on Wednesday night.
Williams had 10 in the first half when the Rockets (5-2) shot 52 percent to open a 36-23 lead. The Vikings (2-5) shot 37 percent.
Toledo pushed the lead to 20 points near the midpoint of the second half with a 9-0 run before the Vikings battled back, cutting the deficit to 10 with 4:17 to play.
The Rockets made their final 10 free throws and made 12 of 14 in the final 5:34 without a field goal. They finished 22 of 30 in the second half, 26 of 36 for the game.
Rob Edwards had 15 points and Vinny Zollo 14 for Cleveland State, which finished 13 of 18 from the line.
