Siena beats Niagara 82-70 for 7th straight win in series
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Nico Clareth scored a career-high 24 points, Brett Bisping had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Siena beat Niagara 82-70 Tuesday night for the Saints' seventh straight win in the series.
Matt Scott scored eight straight points to pull Niagara to 60-54 with just under eight minutes left. He scored 13 of his team's first 22 points of the second half. But Bisping scored six points during a 9-3 run to extend Siena's lead to 69-57.
Clareth made four of Siena's nine 3-pointers, including a step-back 3 with 2:07 left for a 75-65 lead and the Saints hit 5 of 7 free throws in the final minute.
Ryan Oliver added 14 points and Javion Ogunyemi had 11 for Siena (14-7, 7-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Scott finished with 31 points, seven rebounds and five steals for Niagara (5-16, 3-7). Emile Blackman added 22 points, but eight other Purple Eagles combined for just 17 points.
