Maryland-Eastern Shore downs Bethune-Cookman 74-72
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Domique Elliott scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Devin Martin hit the winning shot to give Maryland-Eastern Shore topped Bethune-Cookman 74-72 on Saturday.
Martin hit his jumper with 29 seconds left and Jordan Potts missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Martin scored 11 points, and Bakari Copeland and Derrico Peck added 10 apiece for the Hawks (5-16, 2-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic), who shot 48 percent and led 34-33 at halftime.
Mario Moody scored 20 points for the Wildcats (6-14, 3-3), Potts added 19 and Diamante Lewis 17.
The Wildcats rallied with an 11-0 run and led 54-46 on Lewis' 3 with 11:55 left. Elliott tied it at 59 and the Hawks led 67-63 after his layup with 3:58 to go. Ahmad Frost's 3-pointer with 1:52 left gave the Hawks a 72-67 edge, but Lewis tied it at 72 with two free throws.
