Coppin St. holds off North Carolina A&T in 73-68 win
BALTIMORE -- Terry Harris Jr. scored 22 and collected seven rebounds, and Keith Shivers added 16 points as Coppin State defeated North Carolina A&T 73-68 Wednesday night.
James Sylvester hit two free throws with 2:34 to play to give Coppin St. a 68-60 lead with 2:34 to play. North Carolina A&T went on an 8-2 run, capped when Ahmad Abdullah hit a jumper with five seconds left to cut the lead to 70-68 but the Aggies ran out of time.
Coppin State (5-14, 3-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic) led 33-30 at the break.
Sam Hunt finished with 16 points, Abdullah had 15 and James Whitaker had 13 points for North Carolina A&T (5-17, 2-6). The Aggies have lost 10 of their last 11 games.
