Green Bay surges past Cleveland State 78-61
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Charles Cooper and Carrington Love scored 15 points apiece and Green Bay handled Cleveland State 78-61 on Monday night.
The Phoenix (18-11, 10-6 Horizon) shot 51 percent despite going 4 of 19 from beyond the arc. Love had a career-high seven steals with five assists and Jordan Fouse added 12 points with 10 rebounds.
Cleveland State (8-21, 3-13) was led by Vinny Zollo with 13 points and eight rebounds. Andre Yates and Rob Edwards scored 10 points apiece. Cleveland State committed 18 turnovers, to 10 by Green Bay.
The Vikings led 38-36 at the half, but soon after intermission Green Bay turned it on. The Phoenix tied it at 40, and then went on a 15-4 run to take control. Three straight buckets -including a 3-pointer by Khalil Small -- pushed the lead over 20 with fewer than three minutes to go.
