HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Corban Collins scored 22 points and Morehead State beat Northern Kentucky 64-56 on Saturday night.
Collins was 7 of 18 from the field with four 3-pointers. Xavier Moon scored six of his 11 points in the second half for Morehead State (2-1).
Lavone Holland II had 11 points and six assists to lead Northern Kentucky (1-2). Jalen Billups added nine points with four blocks.
Holland made a layup and the Norse had their last lead, 54-53, with six minutes left. Moon, DeJuan Marrero, and Collins scored to give the Eagles a 59-54 lead with two minutes left. The Norse missed a free throw and four field goals, and committed two turnovers during the stretch.
Billups made a layup to pull the Norse to 59-56 with 1:29 left. The Eagles went 5 of 6 from the line to seal it.
