Flannigan leads Cleveland State over Youngstown State 64-59
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Demonte Flannigan scored a career-high 30 points and Cleveland State beat Youngstown State 64-59 on Saturday night to snap a five-game skid.
Flannigan was 10 of 13 from the floor and made all nine free-throw attempts. The Vikings (8-18, 3-10 Horizon League) shot 46 percent from the floor and were 15 of 19 from the line.
Cameron Morse scored 18 points to lead Youngstown State (9-17, 4-9). Jordan Andrews and Francisco Santiago added 13 points apiece.
The Vikings had the lead for good five minutes into the game, and led 32-21 at halftime. Andrews made back-to-back 3s, and Morse added another to pull Youngstown State to 34-32. Andre Yates and Flannigan answered with consecutive 3-pointers to spark a 21-13 surge and the Vikings led 55-45 with eight minutes left.
Matt Donlan made a 3-pointer to pull the Penguins to 62-59 with five seconds left before Flannigan made two free throws to seal it.
